OBJECTIVES

  1. Perform a psychiatric evaluation on a new patient.
  2. Document that evaluation as a History and Physical.
  3. Present that evaluation orally as a seven to ten minute case.
  4. Evaluate, document (as a SOAP notes), and present (for thirty seconds to three minutes) follow-up cases on rounds each day.
  5. Become familiar with the diagnosis and treatment of depression.
  6. Become familiar with the diagnosis of all other psychiatric disorders..
  7. Develop a strong working knowledge of psychopharmacology, including the indications for each medication and their side effects.
  8. Become adept at assessing and addressing sucidality.
